You know how in this weather, every morning you wake up with a bomb blast on your head, that no organization is ready to take responsibility of? It doesn’t matter which shampoo or conditioner you use, if like me, you lazily put off taking a shower until just before bed, you will wake up looking like Sideshow Bob! And nothing helps. You brush until your scalp is raw, you spray water until it drips, but soon, the poof is back. So what do you do next?
If your solution is, take a shower earlier in the say, the answer is incorrect. Wear a scarf perhaps? Sure but you cannot pull it off without being the butt of every joke. Left with nothing more to do, you give up and go about your day, hoping nobody would notice (yes, they do).
Then I luckily got to try the newly launched Dove ‘Dove Intense Repair Shampoo and Conditioner’. A fancy event held at Raintree Spa, I could not attend, but they were nice enough to send me a care package (the box is now being held captive by my mom). So what the hell, I tell myself, I’ll try anything at this point.
12 chimes the clock, and I drag my lazy self to try out this product. My hair is very limp and straight when it’s not being poofy, so I usually wash it with shampoo twice, the condition. I repeated the regime and went to bed, hoping it won’t be as bad.
The product works! Not only is my hair behaving, it looks and feels great. I cannot stop running my fingers through it, something I don’t do often.
While we are on the subject of poofy hair, let me share a few hair washing tips I came across and tried. They really do work.
- When you first wash your hair, make sure the water is warm. That I believe opens the hair follicles allowing the shampoo to deep clean.
- When you are conditioning, wash it with colder water to reverse the effect and trap the nutrients. Just run cold water over your hair once and avoid washing it again as you debate getting out of the steamy shower.
- If you have time, take a bowl of cold water and in it add a few drops of apple cider vinegar, and just pour it over your head. It works like a charm to slow down the greasy build up.
Use it for yourself and tell me how it was!
Lots of love!
